EGYPTIAN FAIENCE AND GLASS BEAD PECTORAL - Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A lovely wearable necklace in the form of an Egyptian pectoral collar. The necklace is formed of ancient tubular faience beads in aqua blue and green-brown. Disk and barrel shaped beads in shades of purple, brown and beige are also used. The necklace is arranged in nine rows of tubular and cylindrical beads. The centre is embellished with three pendants with gold pellets. Restrung. Size: 290/580mm x 20mm; Weight: 36g. Provenance: Property of a London gallery, acquired on the US art market; Ex. Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe, NJ., Dr. Arnold Saslow, necklace acquired McAdams Ltd., 1970s.
