DECCANI JADE BAZUBAND WITH GOLD, PEARLS, EMERALDS AND RUBIES - Ca. 16th - 18th century AD. A jade bazuband formed as a lobed medallion with gold loops fitted with silk cords finished with a tassel of pearl beads. The upper face is decorated in kundan with a central rosette with ruby petals, from which spring smaller ruby blossoms with emerald leaves and fine scrolling tendrils across the field.
