MUGHAL DAGGER (KHANJAR) WITH ROCK CRYSTAL INLAID HANDLE - Ca. 17th - 18th century AD. A steel khanjar dagger with a slightly recurved, double-edged blade formed with a central rib, the forte decorated with gilt cartouches of scrollwork and script. The hilt is carved from a single piece of rock crystal as a horse’s head with a flowing mane and bridle, the guard lobed and cusped; the faces set in gold kundan with floral sprays of red, turquoise and green gems repeating on both sides.Size: 365mm x 80mm; Weight: 430gProvenance: Private UK Collection.This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
