FATIMID GOLD FILIGREE CYLINDRICAL PENDANT AMULET CASE - Ca. 12th - 13th century AD. A gold filigree pendant amulet case of cylindrical form, modelled as an openwork lattice of interlaced scrolls in finely twisted wire. The body is divided into vertical panels framed by braided fillets, each with looping arabesques. Domed ends are similarly decorated with filigree and fine granules. Three suspension loops are set along the upper seam, with additional rings at each end for attachment.
