A QAJAR POLYCHROME UNDERGLAZE PAINTED POTTERY TILE - Qajar, Persia, Ca. 18th-19th century AD . A polychrome painted pottery tile of rectangular form, moulded and painted in underglaze cobalt blue, turquoise, ochre and pink, outlined in black, depicting a young couple seated amongst floral stems with buildings in the distance, above a border of birds among meandering flowers. Size: 230mm x 220mm; Weight: 1.92kg Provenance: Property of a London Islamic art specialist collector; previously in a collection formed since the 1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
