DAMASCUS GLAZE POTTERY INSCRIBED DISH - Ca. 19th - 20th century AD. A glazed pottery calligraphic dish of broad, shallow form with a narrow rim and a low foot ring. The interior is painted in cobalt and turquoise on a white ground with a central medallion enclosing a bold cartouche of cursive script amidst fine floral scrolls. A wide inscriptional band encircles the well, punctuated by rosettes and leaves. The rim is edged with a beaded border.Size: 50mm x 350mm; Weight: 2kgProvenance: Private UK Collection.
