JIZHOU PAINTED JAR - Song Dynasty, Ca. 10th-13th century AD. A ceramic jar of cylindrical form with slightly fitted rim and broad shoulders, painted in dark brown slip with stylised floral and foliate scrolls enclosed within circular panels, the neck encircled by triple horizontal bands.
