CIZHOU WHITE RIM BLACK GLAZED BOWL - Jin/Yuan Dynasty, Ca. 12th-14th century AD. A ceramic bowl of rounded form with a gently everted rim, the bowl is covered overall in a lustrous black glaze, stopping short of the foot to reveal the buff stoneware body. The rim is dipped in a creamy white glaze, producing the characteristic “white-rim” (baikou) contrast that defines this Cizhou ware type.
