CHINESE MING-TYPE BLUE AND WHITE EWER - Qing Dynasty, Ca. 18th-20th century AD. A finely painted blue and white porcelain ewer in Ming style, of pear-shaped form with an elegant curved spout and arched handle. The body is decorated with panels enclosing peaches and foliage, framed by scrolling floral borders. The spout and neck feature stylised lotus, while the handle is delicately shaped for balance and refinement. The overall form and design echo early Islamic bronze ewers, whose shapes were transmitted to China through trade and cultural exchange along the Silk Road.
