TIBETAN BRONZE REPOUSSE DEPICTING VAJRAPANI - Ca. AD 1800 - 1900. A detailed repoussé panel depicting Vajrapani, the wrathful protector and bodhisattva of power, shown in dynamic posture trampling a prone figure upon a lotus pedestal. He is adorned with princely ornaments, and a flaming mandorla surrounds his form. The composition is framed by six attendant deities, each standing atop lotus bases in expressive poses.
