TIBETAN GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF LONG-LIFE BUDDHA - Ca. 19th-20th century AD. A finely cast and richly gilt bronze figure of Amitayus, the Long Life Buddha, seated on a lotus base. The deity holds a kalasha (vase of immortality) in both hands, resting in his lap, symbolising longevity and compassion. The serene face is framed by a crown, with inset coloured stones and blue pigment remaining in the hair. The figure is adorned with finely chased jewellery, a beaded necklace, and flowing scarves curling elegantly at the arms.
