EGYPTIAN STONE MOULD - New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A rectangular limestone mould with a deep oval recess with a left-facing bird in low relief. The bird is shown in a resting pose with its head turned back, the body with incised feathers. Size: 80mm x 90mm; Weight: 430g Provenance: Private UK collection; acquired on the French market in the 1970s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
