DAUNIAN KRATER WITH GEOMETRIC MOTIF - Ca. 550 - 450 BC. A globular ceramic krater of Daunian production, finely hand-built and decorated in dark red and black slip over a light buff ground. The vessel is characterised by a broad body with a slightly flaring neck and thickened everted rim, two vertical strap handles, and an applied triple-arched plastic handle at the shoulder. The painted decoration comprises a well-balanced scheme of linear, geometric, and stylised vegetal motifs, including concentric bands, dentil patterns, meanders, and abstract floral elements arranged in registers. The base is adorned with concentric circles, a distinctive feature of Daunian pottery.
