DAUNIAN BICHROME POTTERY KYATHOS - Ca. 550 - 450 BC. A terracotta kyathos decorated in red and dark brown on a pale ground. The flat rim encloses a shallow bowl with a tall vertical handle, which is painted with a central panel of crosshatch decoration between horizontal bands. The interior is largely undecorated apart from a central geometric motif. The exterior is ornamented with a continuous register of stylised motifs, including lattice patterns and broad curving bands.
