SAXON / NORMAN BRONZE HORSE HARNESS PENDANT WITH A CROSS - Ca. AD 800 - 1100. A bronze harness pendant in the form of a symmetrical frame with protruding lobes and a pointed terminal with a suspension loop. At the centre is a separately cast cross with rounded finials, mounted to allow movement within the surrounding structure. Size: 33mm x 22mm; Weight: 7g Provenance: London collection; Ex. Mayfair collection, acquired from an Ancient Art gallery; formerly acquired on the London art market pre-2000.
