HUGE ROMAN HIGH KARAT GOLD RING WITH BUST OF FAUSTINA THE YOUNGER - Ca. AD 150 - 200 A rare and beautiful 23kt gold ring with a broad oval bezel engraved with the draped bust of Faustina the Younger in left profile, with finely modelled facial features and the hair arranged in tight rows of curls swept back into a low chignon. A beaded necklace encircles the base of the neck. The bezel plate is framed by a narrow raised rim and merges into a thick, slightly tapering hoop with flat inner face and convex exterior.
