STUNNING ITALIAN 19TH CENTURY CASTELLANI GOLD BRACELET WITH RARE ROMAN INTAGLIOS - Ca. AD 1850 - 1880 A stunning gold bracelet composed of alternating openwork panels and oval gem mounts, the panels formed as rectangular frames with paired scrolls, the mounts set within braided borders and linked by rings. The bracelet is set with five oval intaglios, depicting Bacchus with an amphora; Mercury?s attributes; Athena Parthenos; a hoplite with spear and horse; and a bust of Minerva wearing a helmet. Comes with a display box. Size: 185mm x 30mm; Weight: 80g. Provenance: Private London collection of an established Mayfair dealer and scholar with over 40 years of experience; previously part of 1970s-1990s UK collection.
