EXCEPTIONAL HIGH-KARAT GOLD BRACELET WITH ROMAN INTAGLIOS, CASTELLANI-INSPIRED - Ca. AD 1810 An exceptional 19th century high karat gold bracelet with a british setting composed of eleven oval intaglios, each set in a narrow collet with a twisted wire border and joined by double chain links to form a flexible band. The intaglios are engraved with varied subjects, including a frontal head of Silenus, juxtaposed profiles of Zeus Ammon and Athena, a standing figure of Pan, a winged putto holding a cornucopia, and a horseman in motion.
