HELLENISTIC HIGH KARAT GOLD CRESCENT-SHAPED PENDANT WITH EMERALD, GARNETS AND PEARL - Ca. 300 - 100 BC A gold crescent-shaped pendant with a thin curving plate edged by a fine beaded border, the apex fitted with a biconical suspension element. The arc is set with oval garnet cabochons at the tips, a circular pearl at the centre, and a smaller emerald mount between, with domed bosses and dense clusters of granulation filling the spaces between the settings. Size: 48.1mm x 49mm; Weight: 10.28g. Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of an early 2000s UK ancient art collection; formerly in the collection of G.M., prior to 1996.
