ETRUSCO-PHOENICIAN BLACK STONE SCARAB WITH BES HOLDING A MOUSE IN GOLD SWIVEL RING - Ca. 500 BC A black stone scarab modelled with a domed carapace, notched clypeus and lightly indicated legs, its underside engraved with the dwarf-god Bes wearing a tall feathered headdress and holding a small mouse by the tail before him, all within a beaded border. The scarab is pierced lengthwise and mounted in a possibly later gold swivel ring with a solid rounded hoop, the terminals upturned into bulbous knops bound with tight coiled wire.
