SCARCE ROMAN HIGH KARAT GOLD SPIRAL RING WITH SNAKE-BODIED BUSTS OF ISIS AND SERAPIS - Ca. AD 1 - 100 A fine gold ring made from a round-section wire coiled into a three-turn spiral that terminates in opposed busts. Each end broadens into the modelled head and upper torso of a draped deity. Size: D:15.49mm / US: 4 3/4 / UK: J; Weight: 12g. Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was documented and authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery.
