ANCIENT ROMAN HIGH KARAT GOLD RING WITH CARNELIAN BUST OF SERAPIS IN HIGH RELIEF - Ca. 100 BC - AD 200 A 22KT gold ring with a rounded hoop expanding towards a circular bezel fitted with a carnelian bust of Serapis carved in high relief. The god is shown with a full beard, long wavy hair, and a cylindrical modius on his head, the shoulders draped in a pleated garment. Size: D:16.71mm / US: 6 1/4 / UK: M; Weight: 9.85g. Provenance: Private London collection; previously with F.A., Brussels; Belgian collection formed between the early 1970s to the early 1990s.
