ROMANO-JEWISH GOLD AND STONE PENDANT WITH MENORAH AND GARNET INSET - Ca. AD 1 - 200A pendant with a horizontal tubular dark stone core enclosed by gold end caps and a central collar decorated in relief with a seven-branched menorah on a spreading base. Three vertical ribbed loops rise from the upper edge, each topped by a small cluster of pellets. A narrow transverse bar with coiled ends is attached beneath the tube, from which hang three pendant elements: a central pear-shaped gold mount set with a red garnet cabochon and a small green bead threaded on the drop below, flanked by two short plaited chains, each terminating in a thin gold pendant of spatulate form.Size: 30mm x 25.2mm; Weight: 3.6g.Provenance: Private London collection; previously with F.A., Brussels; Belgian collection formed between the early 1970s to the early 1990s.This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
