ROMAN CARNELIAN INTAGLIO DEPICTING CROWNED ISIS IN GOLD RING - Ca. AD 50 - 200 A carnelian intaglio engraved with the bust of crowned Isis in left profile. The intaglio is set in the bezel of a possibly later 23KT gold ring with a circular raised mount framed by a broad flat rim and flanked on each side by a pair of granules above a solid round-section hoop. Size: D:19.35mm / US: 9 1/2 / UK: S 1/2; Weight: 9.88g. Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of an early 2000s UK ancient art collection; formerly in the collection of G.M., prior to 1996.
