LARGE EGYPTIAN PAINTED WOOD ANTHROPOID COFFIN LID - Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BCA large painted wooden anthropoid coffin lid, carved with a rounded head and shoulders and a flat body panel. The face is modelled with arched brows, inlaid eyes and a small mouth, framed by a tripartite wig painted with alternating dark and light bands falling in long lappets to the chest. The torso is painted with three vertical columns of hieroglyphs within polychrome borders.
