EGYPTIAN WOODEN SARCOPHAGUS MASK - Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 332 - 30 BC A wooden sarcophagus mask coated with white gesso and painted in yellow ochre, with a high, squared headdress framing an elongated face, the large almond-shaped eyes outlined in black with extended cosmetic lines and arched brows above. The nose is narrow and prominent, the cheeks rounded, and the chin pointed. Size: 220mm x 190mm; Weight: 304g. Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Switzerland; formerly with C.B. collection, 1970s-1990s.
