SUPERB CORINTHIAN BRONZE HELMET WITH INCISED WILD BOARS - ex. Axel Guttmann - Ca. 450-400 BC A Superb Pseudo-Corinthian bronze helmet of hammered sheet, with a domed crown, an arched, raised brow and almond-shaped eye openings flanking a false nose guard, the rear drawn down into a neck guard. Incised ornament frames the facial openings and runs along the rim, and each cheekpiece is decorated with an advancing boar shown in profile. Mounted. Size: 230mm x 190mm; Weight: 630g.
