GREEK BRONZE CHALCIDIAN HELMET AND PAIR OF BRONZE SHOULDER PADS - Ca. 250 - 200 BCA bronze Chalcidian helmet with a rounded skull formed in two halves joined along a central ridge. The crown with a raised moulding that bifurcates above the brow and continues around the circumference. Long, slightly concave cheek-guards are attached at the sides and terminate in rounded ends. Together with a pair of bronze shoulder pads, each formed as a shallow cupped plate with an everted rim and a central perforation.Size: 90-290mm x 90-210mm; Weight: 715g.Provenance: Private London collection, acquired on the European art market pre 2000.
