LATE ATTIC RED-FIGURE BELL KRATER WITH EOS AND CEPHALUS - Ca. 400 - 350 BCA red-figure bell krater with a broad everted rim, rounded body tapering to a pedestal foot, and a pair of horizontal loop handles set high on the shoulder, the exterior of the rim decorated with a laurel wreath, the upper zone around the handles with an egg-and-dart band, and the figure panels bordered below by a meander with cross-squares. Side A shows, at left, a draped youth in a chlamys fastened with a fibula striding right; at centre the winged goddess Eos in a long chiton runs towards Cephalus, who advances left on the right of the scene, nude but for a chlamys pinned on the shoulder and holding a spear.
