APULIAN RED-FIGURE BELL KRATER WITH SATYR AND MAENAD - Ca. 375 - 350 BCA large krater with a bell-shaped body that tapers towards a thick, disc-shaped base. Two loop handles extend from the upper body, curving inward. The flared rim is encircled by a band of laurel leaves, while below the handles, large palmettes with tendrils extending outward are symmetrically arranged. Wave pattern encircles the lower section. On Side A, a maenad is depicted moving to the left, wearing a flowing, finely detailed chiton. She holds a mirror in her right hand and a large cluster of grapes in her left. Following her is a nude satyr, holding a patera in his right hand and a wreath in his left. His body is slightly bent forward.
