CAMPANIAN RED-FIGURE PANATHENAIC AMPHORA WITH WARRIORS - Ca. 330 BCA red-figure amphora with a tall ovoid body on a high moulded foot, rising to a cylindrical neck with a broad outturned rim, the pair of vertical strap handles joining the neck to the shoulder. The neck is bordered with an ovolo frieze, one side with a left-facing portrait and the other with a large palmette, both above a wave pattern at the base of the neck, the shoulder decorated with radiating tongues and a further wave pattern encircling the lower body. On side A, two nude warriors confront one another between tall tendrils, one advancing with a spear raised, the other with a shield held before him.
