CAMPANIAN RED-FIGURE OINOCHOE WITH OFFERING SCENE - Ca. 400 - 300 BC A red-figure terracotta oinochoe with a trefoil mouth, a tall narrow neck, a rounded ovoid body tapering to a low foot, and a single strap handle rising from the shoulder to the rim. The neck is decorated with radiating strokes and the shoulder with a wave pattern. The main panel shows an offering scene with three draped women, the central figure seated and holding a phiale, flanked by two standing figures, with a tympanum and lozenges in the field. The reverse is decorated with a palmette and tendrils. Size: 350mm x 170mm; Weight: 1.36kg. Private London collection; previously acquired on the Belgian art market; originally in the collection of S Vanhoutte, Brussels 1990?s.
