ATTIC BLACK-FIGURE OINOCHOE WITH DIONYSIAC SCENE - Ca. 530 BC A black-figure terracotta oinochoe with a trefoil mouth, a short, cylindrical neck, a globular body tapering to a broad foot, and a single strap handle rising to the rim. The shoulder is decorated with a band of radiating strokes above the figured zone, framed by dotted vertical borders. The scene shows Dionysos holding a rhyton, flanked by satyrs. The reverse is plain. Size: 155mm x 90mm; Weight: 230g. Private London collection; previously acquired on the Belgium art market; originally in the collection of D Bogaerts, Brussels 1990?s.
