HELLENISTIC MATCHED PAIR OF HIGH KARAT GOLD BOAT-SHAPED EARRINGS - Ca. 300 - 100 BC. A matched pair of gold earrings, each formed as a boat-shaped body and an arched wire, with circular cells for insets on both sides. The underside is densely stippled. Size: 39-40mm x 31-34mm; Weight: 7g Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery. A significant number of objects from this collection were also published in a professional catalogue.
