COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN WOODEN ROWERS - Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A collection of three wooden rowers, each carved as a male figure kneeling on the right knee, with a short wig and a long, tapering body. The bodies are painted in red pigment over a white gesso ground. The shoulders are pierced with lateral mortises for the insertion of separate arms.
