LATE MEDIEVAL IRON SWORD - Ca. AD 1450 - 1500. A forged iron sword with a straight, double-edged blade of flattened diamond section, tapering evenly to a sharp point, with a short, narrow fuller running down the upper part of the blade. The hilt is formed from an integral, flat-section tang, set with an S-shaped crossguard of flattened bar with rounded terminals. The circular pommel bears a central raised boss. Size: 915mm x 215mm; 795g Provenance: Property of a European collector. Formerly in the collection of Earl Mitchell, London 1990s.
