Bidspirit auction | TWO NAMJI DOLLS
TWO NAMJI DOLLS - Ca. 20th century AD. >A group of two Namji dolls. Each doll is constructed around a small wooden core and richly adorned with dense strands of colourful trade beads wrapped around the neck, torso, and waist. The beadwork forms layered garments composed of red, white, yellow, and multicoloured beads arranged in cascading loops across the body. The tall necks are tightly encircled with stacked bead collars, while fibre elements at the head suggest stylized hair. > >Size: 225-225mm x 80-135mm; Weight: 2.29kg >Provenance: Prince Collection, 1990s-2014; Caravan Tribal Arts. 24 Nov. 2009 (Group Lot). > This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. >
