LUBA WOODEN CEREMONIAL STOOL - Ca. 19th - 20th century AD. >A fine wooden Luba stool carved from a single piece of wood and formed with a circular seat supported by a kneeling female figure. The figure is depicted seated with legs folded beneath the body, her arms raised to support the underside of the seat. The face displays finely carved features with almond-shaped eyes, a gently modelled nose, and a composed expression, while the torso is adorned with incised marks.
