ROMAN GOLD PENDANT WITH AGATE CAMEO OF EMPRESS JULIA DOMNA - Ca. AD 190 - 217. A gold pendant with an oval frame, a twisted wire border, projecting globules around the edge, and a suspension loop attached above. It is set with an agate cameo carved with the bust of Empress Julia Domna in profile to the left, her hair combed back to a bun and with drapery at the neckline. Size: 27mm x 20mm; Weight: 4.8g Provenance: From a London private collection; earlier part of a New York collection formed during the 1980s.
