Collection of antique Tanachs, 1595-1666.

1. Miniature: Sefer Tehillim (Psalms): Leiden, 1595.

"Sefer Tehillim" was printed by Franciscus Raphelengius here in the illustrious city of Leiden in the state Holland."

Good printing in crisp and clear letters, every fifth verse is accented in the margin.

Size: 11 cm.

[124] out of [126] leaves. Lacking title page & another page.

Franciscus Raphelengius was a well-known scholar and printer of Hebrew and biblical works. He headed his family printing business in Leiden.

Bibliography: Israel Archives, Israel Mehlman Collection, No. 1850.

Marginal worming, antique vellum binding.

2. Samuelis Libri Duo Ebraice & Latine. Leiden, 1621. [Dated on title page 1521 but a mistake for 1621 as at end of preface].

2 small wormholes at base corner in front bd., text fine for age and clean, pointed Hebrew text one page and Latin facing, collates A-Q in 12s. The text runs to I Sam.31.9 in Latin and I Sam.31.13 in Hebrew so perhaps a bit missing at the end, though it could be in second volume, but section Q is complete in 12s.

Sm 8vo, dark early leather, raised bands, blind-blocked.

3. Sefer Tehilim- Het Hebreus Psalmboek.

Amsterdam, Joseph Athias, 1666.

240, [7] pages.

Parallel Hebrew/Dutch text. Right hand pages Hebrew text and on the left pages Dutch translation.

First Leusden edition.

Title page toned and dampstained, chipped at bottom fore edge - no loss to printing, gutter of title page re-enforced, lightly toned throughout, small chipping at bottom fore edge corners at front and back, dampstaining to running heads throughout, occasionally touching text.

Small 8vo, late 19th century black morocco, top edge gilt, other edges seemingly untrimmed.
