A disciple of his grandfather Rabbi Daniel Nachamu and a leading disciple of Rabbi Shimshon Morpurgo. He travelled constantly from one Jewish community to another, serving as a Darshan in Ancona, Rav in Ponty and Dayan in Pissaro. Since 1790 served as Rab and Av Beis Din of Florence.
