(Judeo-Arabic) Bechor Yaakov, sermons for Shabbat and festivals, by Rabbi Yaakov Cohen. Djerba 1912. - Sefer Bechor Yaakov contains sermons for Shabbat and festivals, addressing repentance, Torah, and the virtues of the righteous. It includes moral teachings and laws in Hebrew and Arabic (written in Hebrew letters), spoken by the revered Rabbi Yaakov Cohen, who taught Torah and served as a rabbi in the town of El Hara El Kebira. The sefer was also used for the commemoration of the deceased, found in a manuscript by Rabbi Avraham Baruch [Cohen], with prayers for the sick or those in distress, from the book *Yosef Tehillot* by the great Chida [Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Azulai]. Djerba, 1912, by the printing house of David Idan. Pages 1b-13 contain a list of the author's seforim, approbations, ”Laws of Printing Books, ” and an introduction by Rabbi [Kalfon] Moshe ben Shalom Cohen, who oversaw the publication, as well as a preface by the editor and transcriber Rabbi Shaul Makikatz Shli.  Pages 29a-40a include laws related to Bedikat Chametz  Matzat Mitzvah, Hagalat Keilim , Eruv Tavshilin, honoring the festival, and the laws of the *Seder*... from the sefer Arvei Pesachim by Rabbi Shaul [ben Musa] Cohen... which is still in manuscript form. Pages 44b-46 contain laws for the festival of Shavuot, from both written and oral sources, by the young Kalfon Moshe Cohen. Page 57 contains elegies and lamentations for the loss of Rabbi Yaakov Shaul Elyashar written by Moshe Cohen, known as Kalfon Cohen. The elegy begins: ”The head of my exile, the prince of my city and my great ones. A faithful shepherd on Mount Zion, my dwelling.” Page 59a contains notes and emendations by Rabbi Moshe Zaken of Meguez. [21], 60 Leaves. 21 cm.
