First Edition, Pisa, 1811. Printed by R. Shlomo Molkho. A remarkable feature of this edition is that the title page is written in poetic form, in both Hebrew and Aramaic. The second pagination section includes supplements to the author’s earlier work Shabbat Shel Mi, here titled Shomer Shabbat, as well as additions to Yaakov LeChok, under the title Hagahot Alai Chok. On the title page appears the signature of the righteous kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Yehuda Leib Auerbach (1887–1954), son of Rabbi Avraham Dov Auerbach, Rabbi of Chernowitz, and seventh-generation descendant of Rabbi Yaakov Yosef of Polonne, a chief disciple of the Baal Shem Tov. He was ordained at age 18 by Rabbi Chaim Berlin. A close friend of the kabbalist Rabbi Shimon Tzvi Horowitz, with whom he co-founded the famed Kabbalist Yeshiva Sha’ar HaShamayim in 1906, where they served as heads.
