Eliyahu Rabbah – Commentary of the Vilna Gaon on Mishnayot Taharot, Prague 1812 – Copy from the Beit Tefillah of the Belzer Rebbe in Tel Aviv. Early Marginal Gloss. - Sefer Eliyahu Rabbah, commentary of the Vilna Gaon on Mishnayot Taharot. Prague, 1812. On the title page appears the stamp of the Beit Tefillah of the revered Belzer Rebbe, Rabbi Aharon of Belz, located on Echad Ha'am Street in Tel Aviv. Antique important marginal gloss. This edition was printed based on the first edition, published in Brünn in 1802. The Brünn edition was based on manuscripts by Rabbi Meir of Shad of Vilna, a student of the Gra. His teacher, the Vilna Gaon, testified about him in a letter printed at the beginning of the sefer, stating that Rabbi Meir had studied before him and received Torah directly from him. This is further corroborated by his brother, Rabbi Yissachar Ber. However, the sons of the Gra and the Beit Din of Vilna disputed the accuracy of this work, claiming the manuscript used was not precise. The Prague edition was printed by ”Rabbi Shmuel HaKatan” (Klein) with complete disregard for the original publisher, Rabbi Meir of Shad.
