On the title page: Signature and stamp of the famous Warsaw philanthropist Rabbi Yaakov Dovid Bereksohn, son of the renowned philanthropist of generations Rabbi Berke Bereksohn and his wife the noblewoman Tamar’l. From his gravestone in Warsaw (translated excerpt): ”Happy to the Heavenly Field ascended Yaakov, A cry echoed through the streets of the city, Alas! The staff of strength, the support of the needy is broken, A man of righteousness, his doors open to every passerby, All who sought his help and shelter drank from his ever-flowing stream of salvation, Loyal and modest, his eyes were never haughty, He scorned the arrogant and their schemes of pride, Pursuit of power was always abominable to him, Truth, peace, and kindness were the pillars of his faith, More precious to him than any wealth or gold.” The renowned rabbi Rabbi Yaakov Dovid, son of the late rabbi Rabbi Dov Ber z”l Bereksohn.
