Chomrei Matnita, Only Edition, Berlin 1784 – Signature of the Tzadik Rabbi Yonah Bondi of Prague - Sefer Chomrei Matnita – Includes six sections containing various and intriguing topics, authored by Rabbi Gedaliah Lifshitz, rabbi of Obrzycko.  Berlin, 1784 . Only Edition. Signed on the title page: “Yonah of the Bondi family .” Also includes the phrase: “Through the gate of the hall, may it be blessed.” The great genius and saintly scholar Rabbi [Moshe] Yonah ben Avraham Bondi (1768–1806), of Prague, was a disciple of the leading Torah authority Rabbi Yechezkel Landau, author of Noda BiYehuda, and also studied under the author of Teshuva Me’Ahavah. He later moved to Mainz upon his marriage to Bella daughter of the renowned Rabbi Naftali Hertz Scheyer of Mainz. He was “exceptionally well-versed in the Talmud and Halachic authorities, ” and delivered lectures to the yeshiva students in Mainz. Despite his early passing, he was renowned as a saintly and exalted figure (see the introduction of his son, Rabbi Shmuel Bondi, to Turei Zahav, p. 18). Rabbi Moshe Yonah's Torah insights were printed in the work Turei Zahav. Additional unpublished commentaries on the Talmud from his time in the Mainz yeshiva remain in manuscript form in the National Library of Israel. His son, Rabbi Shmuel Bondi, was one of the great sages of Prague (some of his liturgical poems appear in the Rödelheim prayer books). The author of Chomrei Matnita, Rabbi Gedaliah Lifshitz (1745–1826), was the son of Rabbi Yisrael Lifshitz of Kleve, author of Or Yisrael on the laws of divorce  from Kleve, with an approbation from him.
