At the end of the volume is a handwritten mohel (ritual circumciser) notebook by Rabbi Eliyahu (Elias) David Held of Sighet. Born in Sátoraljaújhely in 1842, Disciple of the Yetev Lev in Sighet, Passed away in Brooklyn in 1919. Ner Mitzvah: A polemical epistle to a pious friend (1815) – a scathing critique of Hasidism. With Or Torah: A critical review of the book Orschrift (1866) by Abraham Geiger, a leading figure of the Jewish Enlightenment.  The author sharply opposes Geiger’s biblical positions, calling him: “A wicked fool and ignoramus” 1866.  A Rare book!
