Ir Miklat, First Edition, Dyhernfurth 1690 – one of the earliest and rarest prints from the press established by the Siftei Chachamim. - Sefer Ir Miklat, the 613 commandments arranged according to the order of the Torah, authored by Rabbi David of Lida. First edition, Dyhernfurth, 1690. Printed by Rabbi Shabbetai Meshorer Bass, the renowned author of Siftei Chachamim. Very Rare! In 1689  Rabbi Shabbetai Meshorer Bass established his printing press in Dyhernfurth. His initiative led to the founding of a Jewish community in the city. However, the Christian clergy soon turned against him, accusing him of printing books that defamed their false religion. As a result, he was imprisoned. With an early ownership inscription dated 1742  ”The humble Yitzchak son of Yosef of Guggenheim, currently residing in the holy community of [Furth?]” ff. 16; 21–44; 43–54. 18 cm.
