Rare Halacha & Kabbalah . Divrei Chachamim – Makor Chochmah. First Edition, Hamburg 1692–1693. - Sefer Divrei Chachamim – Makor Chochmah is a rare first edition combining ethics, Halacha , and guidance based on Kabbalistic traditions, authored by the renowned scholar Rabbi Yehuda Leib Puchowitscher of Minsk. Hamburg, 1692–1693. First Rare Edition. The work is divided into two main sections: “Daat Chochmah” – “The Knowledge of Wisdom, ” divided into four gates: Gate of Shabbat, Gate of Repentance, Gate of Divine Service.  Gate of Knowledge – containing ethical teachings and original Torah insights authored by the writer. “Makor Chochmah” – “The Source of Wisdom, ” which outlines: Common and practical laws from Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim and its glosses by the Rema (Rabbi Moshe Isserles), arranged according to the sections [Simanim 1–248], summarized and paraphrased. Laws not commonly practiced in the author’s region were omitted. Following each section: innovative legal interpretations found in the Zohar, the writings of the Arizal, the Shelah, and other works of ethical and moral teachings. Also included are legal insights from later Halachic authorities and responsa written after the time of the Shulchan Aruch, under the heading “Solet Belulah”. The author, Rabbi Yehuda Leib Puchowitscher, resided in his native town of Pinsk, and was the son of Rabbi Yosef z”l, who in turn was the son of Rabbi Yehuda Leib Partzover z”l.
