Kuntres Ma'amar Ushe'avtem Mayim Besasson with a General Letter and Dollar Given from the Holy Hands of the Rebbe, 6 Tishrei 5750. - Maamar v’She-avtem Mayim B’Sason, with a dollar given by the Rebbe. 6 Tishrei 1989. Pamphlet “Maamar v’She-avtem Mayim B’Sason” written by the Tzemach Tzedek, published by Kehat in 1989. Accompanied by One Dollar, both given out personally by the Rebbe. On the front cover of the Kuntress and on the accompanying Dollar bill it is written by R' Avraham Yaakov Ginsberg: On The Kuntress: ”(I have received this Sefer) From the Hands of his Honor and Holiness the Admo”r Shlit”a, On the 6th day of Tishrei 5750 ” On The Dollar Bill: ”(I have received this dollar) From the Hands of his Honor and Holiness the Admo”r Shlit”a, On the 6th day of Tishrei 5750 ” At the beginning of Tishrei 1989, the Rebbe ordered the first printed release, in a special edition and with a celebratory binding (red), the maamar titled above by the Admor Tzemach Tzedek. On the night of the 6th of Tishrei, after Maariv, the Rebbe gave out to those davening the volume in a yellow jacket, inside which was this text, a piece of “lekach”, and a general letter from him and a $1 bill for tzedakah. Around 10,000 people took part in the chaluka. After Maariv the Admor went to his special stender and gave a sicha, longer than usual (around 30 minutes), dedicated to his mother, the Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson, to mark her 25th yahrzeit. At the end of the sicha he came down from the bimah and started the special chaluka: each person received a brown-waxy packet containing: the maamar from the Admor Tzemach Tzedek, a piece of “lekach”, and a general letter from him and a $1 bill for tzedakah. Over many hours (around four and a half!) the Admor the Rebbe stood, after having spent an entire day at the ohel, given to each and every person (man, woman, and child), blessing each of them (who had come from near and far) with “(hab) a zisse yahr”. In this instance the Rebbe gave some people an additional copy if they requested on behalf of someone else. At the end, the Admor left with a special look in his eye, and encouraged the kahal to sing strongly with movements from his hand.
